Salvatore Ferragamo Expands with an Opening in The Gardens Mall
The recent opening of the Salvatore Ferragamo boutique at The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens warranted a soiree as elegant as the brand’s aesthetic. So Ferragamo partnered with Town & Country magazine to fete their newest outpost with an exclusive presentation of both the Men’s and Women’s 2011 Spring Summer runway collections as realized by the brand’s creative director, Massimiliano Giornetti.
Of course the collection, Giornetti’s second for Salvatore Ferragamo, spoke to the modern Ferragamo couple, a duo that enjoys a good holiday on the French Riviera. A Seventies vibe that oozes easy luxury coupled with the quality of construction expected by that kind of jet-setter ran rampant throughout. The ladies offerings included everything from maillots to maxi dresses in shades reminiscent of the perfect sunset: white, ecru, and marigold punctuated with a few looks in sky blue. Similarly the men meant to stand along side were clad in a very natural palette with subtle striping and tone on tone textures adding appeal.
The event, hosted by a stellar committee including Talbott Maxey, Margaret Luce, Loy Anderson and Richard Rendina featured a tasting by Casa Dragones premium tequila, just to add to that easy, holiday escape feeling. And of course, in the spirit of giving back, a percentage of the evening’s sales were donated to The Paradise Fund, a group started by young professionals and students from Palm Beach and abroad whose goal is to gather the community and educate the younger generation of the ongoing, political, environmental, and social problems being faced by youth around the world today.
