Haute Yachts: Motoryacht Perle Bleue for Sale
The purchase of a multi-million-dollar yacht, especially a custom megayacht, is driven more by emotion than rationale. After all, as even the happiest yacht owner will tell you, no one needs a yacht; rather, the decision is based purely on desire.
So when a yacht with a strong reputation for class and quality is on the market, you know there will be great interest. Such is the case with the 2007-built Perle Bleue. Commissioned by an American couple with decades of experience owning and ordering yachts, Perle Bleue is being jointly represented for sale by Yachting Partners International (YPI) and Denison & Daves.
Measuring 124-feet 8-inches, Perle Bleue was the second yacht the owners commissioned from Holland-based Hakvoort. A family-run boatyard, Hakvoort has more than 100 years of experience building yachts in steel, aluminum and even wood. As for Perle Bleue, she features a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, a common combination.
Since the owners had decades of experience buying and ordering yachts, they were closely involved in the design and construction. They tapped Diana Yacht Design for the naval architecture and Donald Starkey Designs for the interior, both of which are well-known and well-respected firms. Major highlights of Perle Bleue include accommodations for up to 10 guests, housed in four staterooms. Three of those staterooms include double beds, with the remaining one featuring twin beds plus two Pullman berths. As you’d expect of a proper megayacht, the owner’s suite occupies the full 27-foot beam forward on the main deck. That generous beam also allows for voluminous relaxation areas, like the combination saloon-dining area. Further highlighting the dining area are floor-to-ceiling murals of elegantly dressed men and women. In fact, Matt Albert, a broker at YPI, emphasizes that the well-designed layout “shows off some amazing space.”
Albert adds yet another reason why Perle Bleue probably won’t last long on the market: “She also enjoys an outstanding charter reputation… all of which goes to make her one of the most attractive and solid offers of this size available on the market anywhere in the world today.”
The asking price for Perle Bleue is $16.9 million. The yacht is presently in Fort Lauderdale, preparing to head to the Caribbean for the winter charter season.
