Haute Event: Beauty and Essex Opening Party in the Lower East Side
A star-studded opening for new restaurant/lounge Beauty & Essex, the newest venture by the owners of Manhattan hot spot Stanton Social. The purple carpet was covered with celebrities including Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kim Kardashian, “Gossip Girl” star Kelly Rutherford, Jay Sean, Victoria’s Secret Angel Selita Ebanks and actress Jennifer Esposito among others. Attendees munched on chicken meatballs, decadent flat bread pizzas and juicy sliders.
The front of the restaurant is a working pawn shop, and the interior is meant to resemble the inside of a jewelry box with a two-story custom chandelier at the circular stair, antique mirrors throughout and hanging jewelry on the walls.
