Dori’s World: First Night in Miami for Art Basel

Last night was the kickoff of Art Basel. I started off at Jason and Michelle Rubell’s cocktail party where I checked out the Rubell collection. The event was held in downtown Miami on two floors. Upstairs was all different installation art. At the event were Nicolas Berggruen, Kelly and Steven Mack, Erica and Michael Karsch, Jeff Greene, Jason Pomeranc, Robert Vecsler, David Aaron, Christina Floyd, Coralie Charriol and Denis Paul, Phillip Levine, Meredith and Bryan Verona, Amanda Smith, Alvin Valley and Lisa Reuben.

After the Rubell’s dinner party we were off to the next party at the Soho Beach House. It was a perfect night to be hanging poolside. At that event were Ernesto Estra, Chadwick Lange, Eleanor Cayre, Cynthia Ott and Jim Coleman, Rodrigo de Santiago and Derek Blasberg. It was the perfect way to start off Art Basel.

I’m excited to try John DeLucie’s new restaurant, The Royal, opening at The Raleigh Hotel this week. I’m also looking forward to Dasha’s party tonight, Jaclyn Powers’ party tonight and Coralie Charriol’s event tonight…I am sure I will also find other events along the way!
