The Jameson’s Bartender’s Ball at the Fashion Industry Gallery

News | November 4, 2010

The hooch-slingers of the Big D put on their Monday best (it is their weekend, after all) and danced all night at the Jameson’s Bartenders Ball, held at the Fashion Industry Gallery. They being the ones making our Saturday night events so sweetly slurred, it’s only  necessary that bartenders get their night to bring out their bling and enjoy free spirits–namely, Jameson’s Irish Whiskey. The options may have been slim, but straight Jameson’s shots were met with an extra shot of pickle juice- an interesting combination.

The cavernous modern event space of the FIG was transformed for the evening, with a spray-paint tattoo booth, picture studio with Jameson’s girls donning barely more than body paint, and a buffet of Domino’s pizza (hey, the main feature was the booze.) Stage performances by a Beastie Boys cover band Rhymin’ and Stealin’, and the Austin-based 80s cover sensation The Spazmatics got the crowd going with danceable renditions of everyone’s faves. Outside, fire dancers entertained the smokers, and those who wanted to see the end of the World Series were surprised with a big screen view of the game. The Rangers may have lost, but it was an even better excuse to drink brown liquor.
