Macy’s has recently released a line of products, called Heart of Haiti. This incredible collection of handmade items is produced by Haitian artists to benefit their home country after the devastating effects of their massive earthquake.
Heart of Haiti includes an assortment of goods such as vases, candle holders, serving trays, picture frames, mirrors, coasters, quilts, and jewelry. Special items in the line include colorful ceramic home décor products, sophisticated metal sculpted pieces, and original artwork.
This charity helps to benefit Haiti not only financially, but also through job creation for Haitian natives. Macy’s felt it was substantial more beneficial to support a “trade, not aide” style campaign versus donating a lump sum to the ailing country. To date, the Heart of Haiti collection has employed over 350 artists, whose creations will help assist an estimated 4,000-5,000 people.
Each item purchased from Macy’s Heart of Haiti line will directly help the rebuilding of the Haitian nation and economy. With the price points of these forty items between $10 and $275, everyone can participate in this amazing campaign. The Heart of Haiti collection can be purchased in 25 exclusive Macy’s stores, including Macy’s Union Square in San Francisco, and online at www.macys.com.
