Lisa Garza could have been one of those super-women heralded in the fifties: she can cook like a pro, throw a shindig like Hefner and look absolutely stunning doing it all. Lucky for us modern Dallasites, Garza has graced our era with her vast array of expertise, becoming a co-owner of the upscale boutique eatery Suze, founder of Pantry Organics and luxury event coordinator for the likes of Oscar De La Renta and Carolina Herrera. She found herself in the spotlight when she landed a contestant role on the fourth season of “The Next Food Network Star,” when Garza’s firecracker personality, couture fashion sense and incredible culinary deftness left her the last woman standing. From her home-base studio Taste inside South Side on Lamar, Garza continues to blaze forward on her mission to ensure people take her, and food, seriously.
