Haute Event: Ghost Light’s Night of Masquerade at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts

News | November 1, 2010

On Halloween, more than 150 young professionals showed up to The Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale for the “Night of Masquerade” cocktail fundraiser. The event was hosted by the Ghost Light Society, a new South Florida association of young professionals whose mission is to help support and promote the performing arts.

This particular event was held to raise money for the Broward Center’s “Reading Readiness Through the Theater,” a program is designed to act out and perform classroom stories for low-income children and schools. Co-chair Dara Levan said of the event, “We had the opportunity to give back to our community by opening doors to those who may never get to experience live theater. This impact really makes the event meaningful.”

All the money raised at the event will go toward The Broward Performing Arts Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to help funding for The Broward Center.
