Haute Event: Donald J. Pliner Raises Money for Children’s Home Society of Florida

News | November 9, 2010

On Saturday, Nov. 6, renowned designer Donald J. Pliner, along with his wife Lisa Pliner, hosted a special afternoon reception at their Merrick Park boutique in Coral Gables. Ten percent of the proceeds from sales from event are set to benefit the Children’s Home Society of Florida, one of Florida’s oldest non-profit organizations dedicated to protecting children from abuse, neglect or abandonment.

The event showcased Donald’s fall shoe collection in addition to giving visitors a special peak at Lisa’s brand new collection. “My new designs are must-haves in every woman’s closet,” she explained. “Not only are they fresh, edgy and sexy, the signature green sole empowers women all over the world.”

Donald also told guests what we can expect from him for Spring 2011. “The spring collection incorporates a fresh and fun design with the ultimate comfort level,” he said. “When the feet are uncomfortable, so is the mind and so is the body.”

I’ll take that motto any day over “pain is beauty.”
