Haute Event: Chris Bosh Helps Honor Troops in Home Strong Celebrity Gala

News | November 22, 2010

On Sunday, Nov. 21, Miami Heat star Chris Bosh and Heat President Pat Riley hosted the Chris Bosh Home Strong Gala at the Fontainebleau Hotel. The evening  included dinner and entertainment complete with live and silent auctions and performances by Nicole Henry and her daughter Simone. One of the auction items was a round of golf with Chris Bosh himself.

Proceeds from the benefit will go directly toward the Home Strong Program, an organization founded by Riley, that recognizes members of the U.S. military who have recently returned from Iraq or Afghanistan. Home Strong was created in 2006 when 15 U.S. veterans were honored during the 2006 NBA Championship Playoffs. The group’s goal is to help support other non-profit organizations that are dedicating to providing services to newly returning veterans and their families.

The exclusive guest list included Timbaland, Debra Cox, Anthony and Alina Shriver, Jason Binn, Romero Britto, Jawan Howard, Pat & Cris Riley, Alonzo and Tracy Mourning and Isiah Thomas, along with many Heat team members and other Miami influencers.
