Haute Dining: A Pinch of Pinxtos at the New Bar Basque Lounge

News | November 18, 2010

The new lounge at Bar Basque (the new hot spot in the Eventi Hotel) had its opening party Wednesday night.

The space is dubbed the “Pinxtos Lounge” (pronounced pin-chos), named after small snacks typically eaten in bars, that are traditional particularly in Basque Country.

The space is swanky and sprawling set in a retractable glass-encased terrace. They’ve got a nice list of spanish wines and specialty cocktails; they also have a selection of six gin and tonic drinks including unique options like “Sweet Lime & Coriander” with Junipero Gin by Anchor Distilling.

As for the pinxtos to go along with your beverage, choose from innovative small bites like Spanish bonito and white anchovy with egg salad or foie gras terrine with fresh fig pulp and caramelized fennel purée.

Bar Basque is located at 839 6th Avenue in New York, 646.600.7150.
