California native Mary McDonald got her start in the design field as a milliner, crafting elegant hats displayed in Vogue, Bazaar, and Vanity Fair. These days the L.A.-based McDonald is one of the most celebrated interior designers, featured in Town & Country, Veranda, House & Garden, International Vogue, and not to mention a regular on House Beautiful’s Top 100 Designers list. McDonald has developed her signature style through her extensive travels to Europe and the Far East, creating a uniquely feminine, glamorous, and worldly eclectic look. Her first book, “Mary McDonald: Interiors, The Allure of Style,” will be released in October and showcases more than 250 captivating photographs of lush interior design, complemented by witty passages. She recently finished refurbishing The Luxe Summit Hotel in Bel Air and is launching her first lighting collaboration with nationally distributed Robert Abbey Inc.
