Ayyam Gallery’s Dubai Sale Features Arab Modern and Contemporary Masters

Ayyam Gallery, specializing in Middle Eastern art especially from the Levantine region, has announced an exciting evening sale on October 29th in Dubai. The sale will be composed of two sessions, the first will feature its highly successful Young Collector’s Auction followed by its first ever Dubai sale. Attendees will be able to select from a stunning array of painting and sculpture by some of the Middle East’s most renowned artists including such names as Safwan Dahoul, Samia Halaby, Khaled Takreti, Paul Guiragossian, Tawfiq Tarik and Chafic Abboud.

The event will be held on October 29th at the Ayyam Art Center in Al Quoz. The second part of the evening will showcase the sale of the paintings from the collection of the former Syrian Prime Minister HE Dr. Abel Raouf Elkassem. Works from the collection include several paintings by Tawfiq Tarik (1875-1940) as well as those by Lebanese artists Paul Guiragossian and Chafic Abboud and their Syrian counterparts Naim Ismail and Ghassan Sebai. The collection thus exemplifies works by artists which make up the second generation of Arab modernists.

Ayyam’s Dubai Sale follows its highly successful Beirut Sale which raised over $500,000 for around 50 lots this past July. The Dubai Sale is the next phase in Ayyam Gallery’s mission to offer esteemed Middle Eastern art as well as talented emerging artists to an ever increasing number of collectors lured by the Arab art scene.
