Sandy Springs Festival 2010

Cancel all previous plans and get ready to have a weekend of fun overload! One of Atlanta’s oldest and most popular festivals is celebrating its’ 25th anniversary this weekend. The Sandy Springs Festival returns with so many family-friendly activities and attractions you won’t know what to do next. Bring the whole family and tell everyone in the neighborhood that Atlanta and the city of Sandy Springs are in for an exhilarating festival hangover.

Taking place at Heritage Green and voted one of Atlanta’s “Best Festivals” by Access Atlanta, the Sandy Springs Festival has everything you’d expect from a successful festival. There is a car show featuring classic vehicles that are eligible to win the big “Best of Show” award presented by Porsche and each daily “Best of Show” winner also receives a weekend rental of a Porsche Panamera. Registration ends at noon and awards are presented promptly at 3 p.m. The Heritage Sandy Springs Museum has a special 25th anniversary exhibit highlighting the memorable moments of the festival over the years. Entertainment is provided by several local artists, including: Aviva & the Flying Penguins, Craig Martin Canedy & Friends, Muse for Life Kids Music Interactive, North Springs Charter High School Marching Band and the CatDaddies. From 5-7 p.m. there is a special festival mix featuring all of the music that was popular when the festival began back in 1985. Expect lots of dancing and reminiscing to 80s classics. Food, beverages and spirits from local tasty vendors are available all day to keep your tummy fully satisfied. Don’t forget to bring your pets for the outdoor fun because all leashed pets are welcome.

Ticket prices are $5 for adults 18 and up, $2 for youth ages 6-17, children 5 and under are free and adult and child two-day passes are $7 and $3 each. All Heritage Sandy Springs members are admitted free. Parking is free at both the Century Springs East & West parking lots. In addition, the Cooper-Atlanta Shuttle and MARTA are also available to festival-goers. Festival hours are as follows: Saturday, Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Sandy Springs Festival is located at the Heritage Green, 6075 Sandy Springs Circle
