Hawaii Five-O World Premiere in Waikiki

It was a star-studded evening this Monday in the heart of Waikiki. Locals and visitors alike swarmed “Sunset on the Beach” for the official premiere of the highly anticipated CBS fall show, “Hawaii Five-O.”

Eager bunches began claiming their front-row viewing spot as early as noon for an up-close peak of the all-star cast.  The seaside soiree launched at 5 p.m. with live Hawaiian entertainment setting the feel for the festive night. Along with a revolving door of musical artists and guests, prize giveaways plus “ono” (yummy in Hawaiian) grinds set the starry meets the islands tone.

A steady stream of guests continued to arrive as the “Hawaii Five-O” star-studded cast made their grand entrance. Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park and Taryn Manning all graced the Waikiki red carpet, posing for photogs a plenty and taking interviews with local and national newscasters.

Following the red carpet extravaganza, the crowd fell silent in preparation for the exclusive pilot premiere in paradise. The “Hawaii Five-O” world debut exceeded guests’ expectations, winning raves among viewers.

Later, an uber-exclusive after-party took place in the lobby of the Waikiki Parc Hotel. Chef Nobu Matsuhisa himself hosted the event and served up delectable small plates as the stars, special guests and press partied into the wee hours of the night.

“Lucky we Live Hawaii” is a local phrase that rang true on Monday as we got a glimpse of history re-made and something the rest of the world will get to see next week. Tune into the series premiere, Monday, Sept. 20, on CBS. Check your local listings!
