Haute Events: Grand Opening of I Heart Boba

What do you heart the most? If it’s boba drinks, you’re in luck. The new I Heart Boba store at Preston Road and Forest Lane celebrated its grand opening September 17th, hosted by Lisa Garza, local gourmet chef and Next Food Network Star contestant who says she was thrilled to see boba coming to the Big D.

Confused? Boba tea, otherwise known as bubble tea, are those delish little treats with the tapioca balls at the bottom. What may have seemed as quick a trend as, say, pogs, Boba Tea is back with a vengeance, being that it’s a healthy option when you’re looking to treat your sweet tooth. I Heart Boba is a concept created by the founders of Dallas-based Boba Tea and Village Tea Company to bring the Taiwanese drink straight to you, along with a slew of coffees, smoothies and flavored jellies.

At the grand opening, guests sipped on some of I Heart Boba’s menu items, including Almond, Coconut and Mint flavored Cream Teas, and nibbled on bite-sized hors d’oeurves. Hamilton A Sneed of HAS Events marketed the party, and Brandon Olds of BOLDS entertainment spun records all night long–that is, until the karaoke kicked off after 10.
