Haute Events: Fashion’s Night Out in Atlanta

News | September 6, 2010

This year Atlanta has gone all out for its own Fashion’s Night Out taking place on Sept. 10.  With so many shopping events and exclusive fashion fetes to choose from, we find ourselves in a bit of a tizzy over where to start.  With over 75 participating retailers, in the widely-known New York-based shopping night, most of us in Atlanta still have not decided which fashion parties we can’t miss.  In the mean time, here is just a small glimpse of some of Atlanta’s most exclusive Fashion’s Night Out parties taking place on Friday.

Fashion’s Night out at DREWLEWIS Sponsored by Vogue and GQ

Our favorite Midtown boys, David and Seth of  DREWLEWIS, are celebrating New York’s biggest night of shopping: Southern style. The evening will feature some of fall’s hottest pieces from the likes of Marc Jacobs, Billy Reid and Michael Bastion. But that is just the beginning of this fashion celebration. From 7 p.m until 10 p.m., they will also be toasting (a fully stocked bar) to the opening of their new Chattanooga location.

DREW LEWIS is located at 935 Peachtree ST.

The Savannah College of Art and Design continues its participation in Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) with events atNeiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue in Atlanta Friday, Sept. 10, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  SCAD and Atlanta celebrate the city’s selection as one of the FNO-sanctioned cities. Over at Neiman Marcus, SCAD fashion seniors will have their collections featured in the store and displayed in the windows facing the luxury wing at Lenox Square.

Across the street, at Saks Fifth Avenue, SCAD fashion and photography students will be collaborating with Saks Fifth Avenue in showcasing the latest trends for the upcoming fall season. Guests will have the opportunity to be styled by the fashion students and have their pictures taken by the photography students.

Mychael Knight Debuts his new Signature Dress Collection

Top off Fashion’s Night Out with an exclusive preview of the Project Runway alum Mychael Knight’s (pictured above with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed) new line: two. Mychael Knight’s fashion presentation will be held at Aja, and will promptly begin at 10:30 p.m. So, for most of us, this will be the last stop for the night. Enjoy cocktails and bites and sounds from DJ Salah Ananse. Expect the ultra-hipster crowd at this party.  And, of course, we can’t wait to see what our dear and talented friend Mychael Knight has in store.
Aja is located at One Alliance Center, 3500 Lenox Rd, ste 100. Party is by invite only.

This is just the beginning of Fashion’s Night Out in Atlanta. For more information on participating stores and all of the events happening around town, visit the Fashion’s Night Out Facebook page
