Haute Event: Special Screening of “Howl” Starring James Franco

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Maestro Dobel Tequila sponsored a special screening of the film, “Howl.” The film, which stars James Franco as the late poet Allen Ginsberg, who faced an obscenity trial for the publication of his poem, “Howl.” The film debuted at Sundace earlier this year and is part animation, part historical reenactment and part courtroom drama.

Franco attended the screening along with his cast mates, Bob Balaban and Jeff Danielsat the IFC Theater in New York, before heading to an after-party at Trump Soho. Other attendees of the event included Alan Cumming, Michael Shannon and Edward Norton.

“Howl” opens in select theaters Friday, Sept. 24.
