Enjoy Perfect Pairings At A Symphony of Flavors

Summer’s coming to a close, which means the fall arts seasons are almost here. Soon stages will come alive with theater, opera and music, and the spotlight will shine on locally grown talent. One such venue is the Bucks County Symphony, a group of area musicians who perform throughout the county.

But the men and women of the symphony knows more than just music. Join them this Sunday for a fabulous food and wine pairing event and fundraiser: A Symphony of Flavors.

The third annual event will allow guests to enjoy some of the best dishes by Bucks County-area chefs, perfectly partnered with boutique wines. Maize, Vine & Fig Tree, Waterwheel and Jake’s Restaurant are among the dining establishments featured. The sommelier on hand will be Philadelphia’s Marnie Old, popular wine columnist and restaurant consultant (I’ve you’ve enjoyed a stellar wine in the city, good money says she had something to do with it).

The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. with the Patron Party, a limited-access event that allows you to learn more about the featured vintages in a more intimate setting. Old will be on hand to explain the wines to those looking to look the part. The official Wine and Food Pairing Event starts at 5 p.m.

Guests will also enjoy serenades by the symphony musicians and a wine and dine auction, making this summer twilight event the perfect way to welcome the new musical season.

A Symphony of Flavors will be held September 12 at Prallsville Mills in Stockton, NJ. Tickets are $75 for the main tasting and $75 for the Patron Party. All proceeds benefit the Bucks County Symphony. For more information call 215.348.3721 or visit www.buckscountysymphony.com.
