News | September 12, 2010

Organized as part of Ramadan’s charitable activities, the Dubai Ladies Club Charity Sale which took place on August 28th raised over 60,000 AED for the benefit of the Mohammed bin Rashid Charitable Humanitarian Foundation.  The sale marked the second edition of the annual “Donate Your Bag Campaign” offering 100 used luxury bags and designer accessories from brands including Gucci, Dior, Fendi, Chanel, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, and countless others. All the stock was sold within just 15-20 minutes of opening to around 100 happy shoppers.

This auction for a greater cause not only encourages the recycling of beautiful designer bags, it unites various community groups to work for solidarity and benefit those in need. “We have managed to achieve remarkable success for our charity campaign, thanks to the support of our corporate partners and most of all because of the participation of ladies from the community. Our supporters came forward to donate their gently-used designer bags and accessories for the final charity sale which was well attended by other women from the community, who purchased these donated items to benefit the Mohammed bin Rashid Charitable Humanitarian Foundation,” said Executive Director of the Dubai Ladies Club, Muna bin Kalli.

The Dubai Ladies Club plans to launch further initiatives to help the needy and strengthen community building during these financially challenging times.
