Dinner & a Show: 9 to 5 the Musical & Dinner at Ecco

Who says date night can’t be in the middle of the week? On Wednesday September 29, the Fox Theatre’s own partnership, Dinner and a Show combines a great show currently playing, with dinner for two at participating restaurants. This time the popular Broadway show 9 to 5 the Musical and restaurant Ecco are the featured players. With hectic schedules, family obligations and Atlanta traffic, finding the time to plan a sexy night out can be a challenge. This takes all the grunt work away, so you and your date can play!

A box-office hit in 1980, 9 to 5 the Musical is a stage version of the film that tours all across the country. The original star of the movie, Dolly Parton is on hand to contribute all the music and lyrics for the Broadway smash. Noted American Idol contestant Diana DeGarmo inhabits the role of Doralee Rhodes, which was famously played by Parton. Centering on three female employees who are fed up with their chauvinistic, scheming boss and decide to get revenge, this story and its’ tale of sisterhood hasn’t aged a bit.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. head over to popular restaurant Ecco for a delicious three-course meal featuring such fare as fried goat cheese, roasted mussels with saffron and chilis, roast chicken thighs with salsa verde and spinach, chili braised pork with homemade papardelle and dark chocolate terrine. After you are pleasantly stuffed, 9 to 5 the Musical begins promptly at 8 p.m.  The good news is that Dinner and a Show has several dates until the end of the year, because we all know that date night is contagious!
