The top chefs in the country converge on September 24, at Atlanta’s St. Regis hotel for The Celebrity Chef Tour. Expect heightened hysteria as fans get to taste and indulge in their favorite chefs’ delicious creations. The weekend just got a lot tastier!
Now in its seventh year, The Celebrity Chef Tour has the distinction of growing in popularity every year, when many events are likely to see decreased numbers as they show signs of age. However, with the increasing amount of culinary reality shows and nationally known chefs with programs all over your TV screen, it’s no wonder that everyone’s’ interested is piqued in the happenings of the culinary world.
Actually, if you are a die-hard fan of Bravo’s hit show, and recent Emmy winner Top Chef, then this is just what the doctor ordered. Favorites from past seasons will be on hand to prepare select dishes that highlight their considerable talents. Recent contestant Kenny Gilbert makes an appearance at the Atlanta stop on the tour. Joining him are James Beard semi-finalist Kelly Liken and Atlanta’s own (he’s the Executive Chef at Paces 88 American Bistro) Jonathan Jerusalmy. Paces 88 American Bistro is coincidently the host venue for the event, as it is the star restaurant inside the St. Regis hotel.
Initially created to bring the experience of dining at New York’s James Beard House to non-residents, demand allowed several cities around the country to experience upscale cuisine and spirits that are sure to please even the pickiest of palates. For $130 ($115 for Visa cardholders), guests dine on multiple course dinners prepared by each participating chef and paired with the appropriate wine to bring out the ultimate flavors. All proceeds benefit the James Beard Foundation’s programming and educational initiatives.
