You Can Celebrate Obama’s Birthday with Him for $30,400

News | August 4, 2010

Cue the Air Force Ones, Mr. President is back home in Chicago to celebrate his 49th birthday. And you can party with him for a mere 30 K. Sans family (Michelle is overseas and the girls are away at summer camp), leaving you some quality time to rub elbows and give your best pitch to the Prez. The birthday bash is a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee hosted by real estate mogul Neil Bluhm at his private estate on August 5th (though his actual birthday is today). Bluhm was listed at No. 236 on Forbes list of 400 Richest Americans in 2009 and is a partner at Walton Street Capital, a private equity real estate investment firm.

The president is also attending a fundraiser at the Palmer House Hilton tomorrow to support Democratic Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias in his quest to win Obama’s old Illinois Senate seat. Event tickets range from $1,000 for general admission to $2,400 for preferential seating.

Not gonna lie, after passing the new 24/7 liquor laws at O’hare, I think it’s pretty sweet our country has turned to partying as a way to get out of debt. Reverse prohibition?
