NYC Launch of Alma De Agave Tequila

News | August 12, 2010

It may not have gotten the publicity that one tequila brand recently received on the hit HBO series Entourage, but it definitely got the attention of some tequila connoisseurs last night at the NYC launch of Alma De Agave Tequila. Paired with delicately fried tilapia tacos, bartenders at the Latin-Asian restaurant, Zengo were mixing up cocktails with three delightfully tasting tequilas. The Blanco, aged 50 days has notes of jasmine, rounded by pineapple and grapefruit zest was used to create the Alma Melon Cooler, a nice light cocktail for those who like it sweet. The Reposado, with a slightly deeper taste and darker color was introduced in a true fashion of fusion, united with some ginger, lemongrass and sake. The creation, a Mexican Geisha, smooth with a finish of vanilla notes. Last but not least, the Añejo with aromas of grilled pepper and oak crossed with coconut and cloves, a manly man’s tequila if you will. All made with 100% of the nectars of blue weber agave. So while Vinny Chase might be gaga over Alma’s big competitor in a fictional drama, sources sell us, Jeremy Piven who plays Ari Gold in Entourage actually does enjoy some Alma de Agave in real life.
