London’s frenzied paparazzi were out in the East End on Saturday night as Madonna celebrated her 52nd birthday at Shoreditch House private members’ club.
The queen of pop is currently in London filming her new movie, W.E; a film about that tells two parallel love stories separated by more than six decades. She still took time out of filming for her birthday celebrations.
Looking stunning in a tight-fitting dark, silver dress by designer friends Dolce and Gabbana, Madonna was snapped walking into the venue followed by 13-year-old daughter Lourdes.
Both mother and daughter were wearing matching crucifix accessories—Madonna a crucifix around her neck and on her handbag, while Lourdes wore a crucifix necklace.
Lourdes also brought along four of her school friends and was joined at the party by Madonna’s 24-year-old boyfriend, model Jesus Luz
In what was reportedly a ‘low-key’ celebration, none of the star’s Hollywood friends such as Gwyneth Paltrow appeared to be present at the celebration. Instead a rather odd collection of London’s A-listers such as actress Billie Piper, comedian Paul Whitehouse, and TV presenter Claudia Winkleman were invited and all posed for pictures as they arrived at the venue.
The party, said to have cost £100,000, started at 9pm in a private dining room on the fifth floor. At 11pm the singer and her guests moved up to the roof terrace, which has a swimming pool.
Champagne and vodka cocktails were served and the guests ate scallops, calamari, crayfish and quails’ eggs. Guests partied with the star until 4am.
Madonna celebrates her actual birthday today and is rumored to be throwing a fancy dress party to tie in with the birthday of her son Rocco, who turned ten last Wednesday.
Bloggers and entertainment editors have been debating the material girl’s most recent look since the birthday pictures hit the web. At 52 years old and drawing comparisons to her 13-year-old daughter in style and looks, Haute Living London sits firmly on the side of the fence that says she looks fantastic.
