Dori’s World: Off to the West Coast

So after my whirlwind European adventure I stopped in New York City for one night, and then off to California I went. First stop was to San Francisco to see my sister, her husband, and my twin nieces Stella and Marlee. Then, we were off to meet our parents in San Diego, where we took the kids to SeaWorld and met up with my friend Susie Block Casdin. Next stop was Malibu to see Alexander von Furstenberg and Ali Kay. What a fun-filled weekend!

On Friday, Lapo Elkann and Coco Brandolini, who are Alexander’s cousins, threw a barbecue at the house in Malibu. After the barbecue, all the Italians played soccer on the beach. That night we all had dinner at Alexander’s house, and the next day he hosted a great lunch at his house. In attendance were Lapo Elkann, Tatiana von Furstenberg, Stefan de Kwitoski, Bianca Brandolini, and Francesca Versace. We also went to Nobu that night. Sunday was spent with my oldest friends, Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger Berman. We went to the Malibu farmers market and then later met up with Hedi Gores and Steve Tisch. The summer keeps on getting better and better.
