Audi and Chopard Kick Off Emmy Week with “Glee”
“Glee” star Jane Lynch revs the engine at the Audi/Chopard bash.
Audi celebrated red carpet style with co-hosts and Emmy-nominated actors Jane Lynch, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet on Sunday night at Cecconi’s in Beverly Hills. The star-studded cocktail party kicked off Emmy week with a big bang, and honored the glamour of the awards with an exclusive Chopard jewelry exhibit.
Celebrity guests were chauffeured to the fete in the all-new 2011 Audi A8 luxury sedan and, upon arrival, checked out the Audi R8 Spyder sportscar (as seen in Iron Man 2, though Robert Downey did not come with the car).
Co-hosts Jesse and Eric hit the red carpet in Chopard watches, and Jane sparkled in chandelier earrings and a drop necklace. Jeyma Mays, Karina Smiroff, and Nicole Scherzinger also arrived bejeweled in Chopard baubles…my favorite? The emerald set.
Matthew Morrison took his geek image up to 11 by sporting a pair of thick black glasses; that all went by the wayside though, when he took to the dance floor with Nicole Scherzinger.
Of course, while I love Ms. Lynch as Sue on “Glee” my favorite will always be her turn in Best in Show. Other funny people we all know and love were hanging out checking out the cars and such too – like Joel McHale, dry wit intact and still very tall…
The always lovely and eternally effervescent Mr. Joel McHale.
Also hanging out doing her signature prom queen wave was Kathy Griffin, who waxed unpoetically about her Creative Emmys loss the night before to Ryan Seacrest.
Needless to say, if there was ever a show that should beat out Ms. Griffin’s “My Life on the D-List” this year, it was the one Seacrest won for: “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” where the chef infiltrates America’s fattest city and tries to school them toward a healthier way of life. If that doesn’t deserve an Emmy, I don’t know what does.
Other stars partying down included “Breaking Bad’s” Aaron Paul (another nominee who should certainly win), Cheryl Hines, Hill Harper, Jessica Lowndes, “Mad Men’s” Jared Harris, Kate Flannery, Kathy Griffin, Olivia Munn and Sara Ramirez.
