Star Spangled Events: The Haute 5 July 4th Parties in San Francisco

San Francisco Opera at Stern Grove
The beautiful Stern Grove is the setting for the San Francisco Opera’s production, “A Celebration of American Music” with bass-baritone John Relyea and soprano Patricia Racette. A great start to the festive day.
2:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Stern Grove, 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard, San Francisco. (415) 252-6252. www.sterngrove.org.

Pier 39
Our favorite July 4th event in San Francisco is the annual Pier 39 celebration. This year, enjoy music by Mustache Harbor and Tainted Love, followed by fireworks over the bay!
3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Pier 39, San Francisco. www.pier39.com.

Alcatraz Cruise
At 7:00 pm it will still be bright outside, so what a perfect time for a cruise on the bay! At Pier 39 you can board the “Alcatraz Fourth of July Dinner Dance and Fireworks Cruise.” Enjoy a four-course dinner followed by live music, dancing and an ideal vantage point for fireworks.
7:00 p.m. $180-$284.
Board at Pier 39, San Francisco. (800) 410-8233. www.alcatraz.us.

Embarcadero
The San Francisco Bay lights up at 9 p.m. with fireworks taking off behind the Ferry Building, on the Embarcadero at the end of Market Street, San Francisco.

The Starlite Room
Party past midnight at the Float party at Harry Denton’s Starlite Room. Celebrate a guilt-free Sunday night of DJs, dancing, cocktails, and friends while enjoying the gorgeous views of San Francisco’s skyline from the 21st floor atop Union Square!
9:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Harry Denton’s Starlite Room, 450 Powell Street, San Francisco. 415.979.3031 or visit www.skeeodesigns.com/emails/sebastien/float_form.html
