Midnight Movies, Martinis, and Manicures

Known as the place to see and be seen during the summer months, The Berkeley Health Club & Spa has transformed its roof-top terrace into a midnight movie theatre. Towering high above bustling Knightsbridge, this palm-lined outdoor theatre is London’s only private cinema.

Hotel guests and Londoners alike are invited to watch the latest fashion documentaries on the big screen while sipping Blue Bar martinis under the stars. Mini ice cream cones and home-made popcorn are on hand while beautifully lit towering palm trees will make guests forget that they are in the centre of bustling London. The Berkeley’s Midnight Movies are on display until the end of August 2010.

While watching the movie of the night, spa therapists will perform manicures with a choice of Chanel’s latest Les Pop-Up nail varnish. Mulberry blankets are on hand to prevent a sudden summer-night chill.

Showings include Le Jour D’Avant, featuring Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Proenza Schouler and Jean Paul Gaultier, as well as Signe Chanel, Valentino: The Last Emperor, The September Issue, Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton, and Lagerfeld Confidential. All documentaries offer a look behind the scenes of some of the world’s leading fashion houses.

This summer, The Berkeley offers Midnight Movies, Martinis and Manicures packages starting at £485 plus VAT based on 2 people sharing, and include an overnight stay with access to the roof-top cinema. A special Midnight Movies, Martinis & Manicures package for Londoners is available at £85 per person and includes full access to the movie theatre between 10.00pm–midnight, two signature Blue Bar cocktails per person, a mini-manicure with Chanel’s latest summer colours, plenty of ice cream and home-made popcorn. This package is subject to availability, available on Fridays in June, July and August, weather permitting.
