Urban Tech Pays Tribute to Ambassador Carl Spielvogel

The nonprofit organization Urban Tech held its annual Gala Dinner on June 22 paying tribute to ambassador Carl Spielvogel for a lifetime of public service at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. Also in attendance were soul singer and Grammy Award winner Patti Labelle, who was featured as a performer as well as receiving the Humanitarian Award that night.

Urban Tech welcomed honorable guests such as John Starks, Earl “The Pearl” Monroe, Sen. Thomas Daschle, Sen. Charles Schumer, Sen. Kristen Gillibrand, Dr. Louis Sullivan and respected journalist Paul Steiger and many other national and local entertainers, political and social leaders. B. Smith served as Master of Ceremonies while Maurice Dubois, CBS news anchor, delivered the welcoming remarks that evening.
