Headlands Center for the Arts Benefit Art Auction

News | June 24, 2010

On June 2, more than 350 Bay Area residents gathered at the Herbst International Exhibition Hall in the Presidio National Park for the Headlands Center for the Arts Benefit Art Auction. The event featured both a live and silent auction where participants were able to bid on more than 80 museum-quality contemporary artworks created by the center’s very own artists.

The Headlands Center for the Arts is an extraordinary place whose mission is ultimately to help people better understand and appreciate the role of art in society. It is a place where artists come together to create, develop, inspire, and learn. Whether it be painting, photography, writing, dance, or film, the center provides both local and visiting artists an unique opportunity to perfect their craft. The Headlands also attracts nearly 10,000 visitors each year with its variety of programs that include discussions, artist lectures, workshops, and performances.

The fund-raiser raises more than $150,000 each year and proceeds go directly toward funding for the center’s various programs.
