Dori’s World: Kageno’s Summer Cocktail Party

While I had some family obligations Tuesday night, I heard I missed a great benefit. Danielle Levine hosted Kageno’s Summer Cocktail Party to benefit a nursery school she is helping build in Rwanda in memory of her dad. More than 200 people enjoyed fabulous drinks by Atlantico Rum and delicious (and unusual) food by Brown Betty, as well as Vitamin and Smart Water provided by Glaceau.

They were also treated to a performance by Somi — a Rwandan/Ugandan singer whose new album just debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s World Chart. Ricky Lauren, Bryan Adams, Donna Karan, Lyle Owerko, Lauren Bush and others donated photographs for sale at silent auction and all sorts of African crafts were also available for purchase.

Among the people spotted at the party were Dylan and David Lauren, model Anouck Lepere, Topper Mortimer and Meredith Ostrom, Vanessa Bismarck, Adam Dell, Amanda Smith, KK Kravis Schulhof, Miguel Fabregas, Maggie Betts, Maayan Zilberman and Nikki Dekker (the design team behind sexy lingerie brand The Lake & Stars), Lizzie Grubman and many others. Everyone seemed to have a blast despite the thunderstorm outside.
