Is it me or is there a lot of reasons to cook this summer? I’ve got birthday parties, baby showers, anniversaries and everything else, all piling up in a matter of six weeks or so. This is no time to to skimp on the skills: this summer make sure you put your best food forward. Check out Cooking at the Counter with Dean, a new series of local cooking classes featuring none other than Dean Fearing himself (you know Fearing’s, that chic little restaurant inside Uptown’s Ritz Carlton.)
Cooking at the Counter with Dean is a three part series said to be sprinkled throughout the summer. On Saturday afternoons, enjoy a three-course lunch and wine pairings while learning how to create some above-par dishes with the talented culinary team from Fearing’s, including chef de cuisine Eric Dreyer and pastry chef Jill Bates.
“This is the first time Fearing’s has offered cooking classes since we opened in August 2007, and we’re truly excited about it,” said Chef Dean Fearing. “It’s been years since I’ve led a public cooking class, and this is something really different, with just ten people per class, watching and dining together directly at the counter. Not only will these be the most exclusive classes I’ve ever taught; they’ll also be the most creative and interesting. This is going to be a unique experience.”
Classes are scheduled to take place on June 26, July 17 and August 28. Bonus: A take-home package from Dean Fearing, including signature culinary products, an autographed chef’s apron, and a complete recipe folder with menus and recipes from the day’s demonstration and lunch.
