Dori’s World: Non-Stop Friday Night Parties in NYC
I can’t even begin to tell you what a terrific Manhattan night it was this past Friday night.
It started of with Whitney Sudler-Smith’s documentary movie, Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston, as part of the Tribeca Film Festival. Starring Angelica Huston, Liza Minelli, Andre Leon Talley, Diane von Furstenberg, Billy Joel, and Ralph Rucci, this project truly captured how talented of a man Halston was. Officially, the program notes describe it as, “A glowing, prismatic portrait of the rise and fall of America’s first celebrity designer—Halston—the man who was synonymous with fashion in the 1970s, and became the emperor of NYC nightlife.” Celebs who attended the premiere screening included Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Walsh, Bob Colacello, Russell Simmons, Veronica Webb, Ralph Rucci, Georgina Chapman, Pat Cleveland, and Bryan Batt.
Host with the Most: Andrew Saffir
Our favorite venues: Trump Soho
Our host with the most, Andrew Saffir, put his talents to the test with a Friday night after-party at Quattro in Trump Soho. The restaurant is the latest culinary venture from Karim Masri and Nicola Siervo. Later, the crowd moved into the new lounge at Trump Soho, a venue that will be celebrating its grand opening on Tuesday night.
Guests we hold dear: Jennifer Creel was there, along with Peter Davis, Rachel Zoe and her sister Pamela, Edward Chapman, Ali Wise, Fern Mallis, Alina Cho, Olivia Palermo, Bee Shaffer, David Patrick Columbia, Bettina Zilkha, Ann Dexter Jones, and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Host with the Most, Part Deux: Pippa Cohen
In between the Trump Soho events, I made an appearance at my friend Pippa Cohen’s birthday party. She went all out, including bringing on Carlos Mota for the décor. The cake was decorated to resemble Brian Atwood shoes and shoe boxes.
More guests we hold dear: Stuart Parr, Allison Sarofim, Stacey Bronfman, Caroline Berthet, David Wassong, Charlie and Lauren Walk, Danielle Levine, Jennifer Raines, Natalie Moar, John Mcdonald, Drew Katz, Ronnie Madra, and Bonnie Morrison.
The Final Party of Friday Night
After this party, which could have been enough for an evening, I had one last stop at Mike Satsky’s place, Provocateur, and I must say, it was off the hook. Filling the lounge were Stavros Nicharos, Eddie Winston Churchill, Jason Pomeranc, who owns 60 Thompson, Gary Gilbert, the producer of the film Garden State and the new movie The Kids Are All Right with Julianne Moore and Annette Bening coming out in July, Scott Lerner, Ulla Parker, and tons of gorgeous models.
This place is super hot, it will be my go to place from now on.
