Audemars Piguet Adds Premier Golfers Kim and McIlroy to the AP Golf Ambassor Team

Audemars Piguet is at it again. The luxury brand that we love to love continues to outdo itself, so much so, that we can’t stop writing about its continued successes. Of course, that would only seem natural with someone as charming and savvy as Francois Henry Bennahmias at the helm.

On Sunday, we got word that the luxury brand and one of the world’s leaders in fine wristwear proudly announced the addition of premier golfers Anthony Kim and Rory McIlroy to its already-impressive roster of all-star brand ambassadors.

The two exceptional players join a host of fellow talented professional golfers currently hitting the links for the official Audemars Piguet Golf Ambassador Team: Lam Chih Bing, Darren Clarke, Nick Faldo, Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, Miguel Angel Jiménez, Shiv Kapur, Shingo Katayama, Cristie Kerr, Thomas Levet, Graeme McDowell, Rocco Mediate, Morgan Pressel, Vijay Singh, DJ Trahan, and Lee Westwood. How’s that for an all-star lineup.

You don’t have to be an avid fan to know that the 2010 Masters Tournament in April was one of the biggest to date, due to the return of a misbehaved pro. For Los Angeles-born Anthony Kim, the magnitude of this year’s Masters took on a whole new meaning when he took home a third place finish.

Born in Northern Ireland, Rory McIlroy caught the public’s eye at the 2007 Open Championship at Carnoustie, taking the Silver as leading amateur. But what really caught the world’s attention is that he is the youngest player to make the world’s “Top 50” and became only the second 20 year-old to break into the world’s “Top 10,” after Sergio Garcia.

Both players are wearers of the Royal Oak Offshore collection, which, according to the company, is composed of three timepieces issued in limited series. The Offshore collection boasts carefully crafted punctual detail and design powered by a self-winding chronograph to the delight of the wearer.
