News | May 21, 2010

The national YoungArts program launched its new regional laboratory initiative, YoungArts Miami, which is open to Miami-Dade high school seniors and juniors in nine disciplines within the visual, literary, and performing arts. Students will have access to informative monthly workshops, interact among artistic peers, career guidance, portfolio development, and various other tools and resources.

Several hundred students, parents, teachers, and art supporters arrived at the Peacock Theater at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, filling the room with excitement and enthusiasm. Highlighting the evening was an original performance by YoungArts alumni. Guests included YoungArts Board Chair Jim Dubin and wife, Susan; Knight Foundation Miami Program Director and Vice President/Arts Dennis Scholl and wife, Debra; among others.
