Scottish Fashion Hits NYC

News | April 6, 2010

We gave our beloved readers the heads up on this fabulous and fantastic event but if you didn’t get the opportunity to attend, we have you covered. That’s right readers; we’re talking about Dressed to Kilt, the annual fashion show and party. The event took place at M2 Ultra Lounge as various celebrities including Al Roker, Michael Myers, and Joan Jett strolled the runway adorning this year’s latest looks.

Until the show, clothing connoisseurs made their way towards 13 East 69th St., on the corner of Madison Avenue, for a peek at the runway designs. Various looks included past silhouettes from iconic designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, and Deryck Walker.

The famous Sir Sean and Lady Connery hosted the festivities and fellow haute Scots, as well as many other premier names, joined them in the celebrations. “Mad for Scotland” was the theme of the event as it demonstrated a vast array of styles. The daring and delightful designs ranged from the traditional Highland kilts to designer haute couture, a demonstration of Scotland’s newest generation of designers embracing their Scottish roots.

Proceeds went directly into supporting the Paralyzed Veterans of America and its Scottish equivalent, the Erskine Hospital of Scotland, along with the Wounded Warrior Project.
