Polish Me Pretty: The Haute 5 Manis/Pedis in Las Vegas

News | March 30, 2010

Clinton Kelly from What Not To Wear always says your shoes set the tone for your outfit. With the fair weather now hitting Las Vegas, that means sandals and peep-toed shoes poke their way out of your closet and onto your feet.

While the shoes may set the tone, the pedicure and polish finish the look. Time to head to the spa for a pedi and a fresh coat of paint. Be sure to add one of the season’s hot citrus nail colors such as tart lime or fresh orange, sure to show off your tan. Here’s a look at five spas that make getting a pedicure even more amazing than that place around the corner.

Scream for Ice Cream
Canyon Ranch SpaClub at the Venetian and Palazzo takes your sweet tooth to a whole new level with the Ice Cream Pedicure in strawberry lemonade for April. First they bathe your feet in a moisturizing foot bath that includes a big scoop of soda that fizzes and releases oils, minerals and fragrances into the water to soothe and revitalize feet. Next, your feet get their exfoliating treatment with strawberry kiwi shower sherbet, followed by a mask in a marshmallow foot mask. No treat would be complete without icing, and this one wraps up with strawberry kiwi body icing. Polish and you’re good to go.

The Ice Cream Pedicure cost $95 for Monday through Friday appointments and $100 for Saturday and Sunday appointments.

If you prefer to be your own bartender, so to speak, try the Mixology Series Pedicure that uses organic products. You get to mix and match your own scrubs, butters and oils using certified organic nutrients and essential oils in fragrances such as coconut milk, orange peel and almond blossom. Canyon Ranch even adds a goodie bag to go made up of the remaining product, nail polish and tools used during the service.

The Mixology Series costs $120 weekdays and $125 on the weekend, and is adjusted based on the nutrients, oils, scrubs and butters you choose.

Pedicures last 50 minutes at Canyon Ranch. For appointments, call 702.414.3600 or 877.220.2688.

Pamper Party
Grab a couple of friends and head over to Spa Bellagio for a pamper party complete with the Terra Firma Stone Pedicure. The spa has private rooms, couple’s rooms and even an area set aside for groups, all of which can handle your pedi needs.

The hot stone pedicure uses warm stones that melt away stress and tension between your toes. A rosemary and lavender warming balm finishes the pedi to increase circulation and keep you in that blissful state.

The 75-minute pedicure costs $105. For appointments, call 702.693.7472.

A Girl’s Best Friend
Just a short drive from the casinos of the Strip at Town Square sits Spa Eleven, the outpost of the Delray Beach, Fla., spa from Nicole Oden. A private entrance for VIP guests with an entire room dedicated to treatments makes this one decadent spot. To add to the decadence is the Diamond Pedicure that leaves your tootsies soft and smooth. The pedicure starts with a foot soak, followed by a scrub, mask, moisturizing massage and then a warm paraffin foot treatment. Spa Eleven touts a Hollywood-style pedicure room. The 75-minute treatment goes for $105. For appointments, call 702.967.1100.

Go East
One of Vegas’ newest spas offers a pedicure treatment that is considered one of the highest honors in Eastern cultures. The Chinese Foot Spa at the Spa at Mandarin Oriental within CityCenter lets you soak your feet in your choice of invigorating or relaxing herbal blends while lounging in reclining chairs with views of the Strip. This treatment is a blessing after a long walk on the Strip or a day of shopping. It incorporates massaging moves along reflex points in the feet and lower legs.

When you’re done detoxifying, replenishing or revitalizing, add a Mandarin Oriental Pedicure in the spa inspired by 1930s Shanghai. The foot spas are 25 or 45 minutes, depending on the treatment. The foot spa ranges from $85 to $120, and a pedicure runs $130. For reservations, call 888.881.9530.

A Sip of Wine
Get the full relaxation treatment at Color — A Salon by Michael Boychuck at Caesars Palace with the Chardonnay Pedicure. This 70-minute service comes with a glass of Chardonnay and a moisturizer derived from Chardonnay grape seed extract. Curtains divide the pedicure stations for privacy, or open them all up for an afternoon of treatments with your friends. The Chardonnay Pedicure goes for $145. For reservations, call 1-866-730.7791.
