The NYC Way to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with the fashionable and beautiful who have swooped into town for Fashion Week?

Last night the cool kids hung out at Kenmare to celebrate the holiday at Oliver Zahm’s “Purple” dinner party. Belvedere was the beverage of choice for some of New York’s trendiest, including Zac Posen, Nate Lowman, Leelee Sobieski, Terry Richardson, Chloe Sevigny, Paul Sevigny, Nur Khan, and Daphne Guinness.

When Oliver Zahm invites you to a dinner party, you better be prepared to stay a while, as the sit-down portion of the eating affair lasting three hours. Think all those vittles might send guests into a food coma? Think again. After the desserts were served, guests did not depart for home, but instead headed to the Gramercy Park Hotel’s rooftop bar. (Check our cover story from the New York issue to get Ian Shrager’s inside scoop on plans he has for the rooftop in 2010.) Joining in on the after-dinner fun were Jared Leto, Genevieve Jones, Arden Wohl, artist Aaron Young, actor Johnny Weeks and others.

But wait, that’s not all the action that we have to report from the evening made for lovers. Our insiders tell us that Surf Lodge at Milk Studios was also quite the happening scene as the younger kids jammed to the Semi-Precious Weapons who performed at the MAC Valentine’s Day party. Lots of love filled the space (and by love we mean PDA) as Richie Rich danced about and Justin Tranter performed an outfit change right up there on stage.
