Madoff’s Penthouse Sold for $8.9 Million
Bernie and Ruth Madoff’s former penthouse is now in contract. According to reports, it was originally listed for $9.9 million and then reduced to $8.9 million. It’s not being sold at an undisclosed price to an anonymous buyer. The property has three bedrooms, a wraparound terrace, and is located on two floors of 133 East 64th Street.
This marks the second Madoff property to be sold by the government in hopes to reimburse his victims. His Montauk beach house sold for $9.41 million last September. Madoff’s 8,800-square-foot Palm Beach mansion is still on the market, and its price has been dropped to $7.25 million.
