Fashionably Philanthropic at Jimmy Choo Bal Harbour

News | February 24, 2010

Our favorite former model and Lincoln Road boutique owner, Sara Colombo, continues to show her philanthropic side here in the Magic City. Most recently she hosted a fundraising shopping event at Jimmy Choo Bal Harbour to benefit Shake-A-Leg Miami.

The Shake-A-Leg Miami Aquatic Center and Marine Academy encompasses five acres on South Bayshore Drive in Coconut Grove and serves able-bodied individuals as well as those with physical, developmental and economic challenges through the therapy of water activities on Biscayne Bay. Sara invited all of her fellow philanthropists to Bal Harbour for Champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and to try on the beauty of the newly launched Choo 24:7 Collection. Colombo, the owner of the European home décor boutique Nest, sported the Choo “Quiet” heels in candy apple red for the occasion.

Colombo’s support of SALM has been recognized on a national level, with Elle magazine honoring her charitable efforts with a “Personal Style Award” in October 2009. Ten percent of the sales from the shopping benefit went directly to SALM.
