Did Simon Spurr Earn a Nod from Anna?

News | February 16, 2010

We reported to you a few weeks ago that Simon Spurr’s double-breasted suit was the must-have this season. And now we can prove the validity of our declaration. Anna Wintour showed up for Spurr’s Sunday Show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. We all know that a nod from Anna means fame and fortune in the near future.

While portraits from Helmut Newton inspired Spurr’s Spring Collection, he described his Fall Collection as modern and elegant. Spurr commented, “I am English and my brand is decidedly American. I really wanted to establish my British roots and deliver something modern and elegant into American fashion week.”

Runway music included the likes of Babyshambles, The Streets, Daniel Merriweather, Free Energy, Chester French, and The Generationals. Seen in the front rows grooving to the tunes and checking out the designs were Milo Ventimiglia from NBC’s Heroes, Robert Verdi, and Arden Wohl.
