Art Enthusiasts Come Out to Welcome Luc Tuymans

News | February 15, 2010

Belgium painter Luc Tuymans opened a retrospective at SFMOMA on February 6, but on the evening prior was when the art enthusiasts of San Francisco really came out. His current exhibition is the first in the U.S., and has been acclaimed as his most comprehensive project to date, with nearly 80 paintings spanning back to 1985 and broaching such hot button topics as the Holocaust and events in African nations. Following the preview at SFMOMA, elite members of the museum’s donor’s circle enjoyed the elegance of a dinner at St. Regis San Francisco.
