Soho House Roared Into the New Year

News | January 4, 2010

Those fortunate enough to be included in the exclusive New Year’s Eve party at the Soho House New York were there to ring in a new decade but they all paid homage to the roaring 20s.

While Times Square was jam packed with people waiting to see the ball drop, the party at Soho House included swank patrons, a 1920s theme, brass band, and a DJ. In addition, members of the exclusive club and guests enjoyed a fabulous show by cabaret performers.

The party took place in the sixth floor dining room, bar, and drawing room and guests were instructed to wear “era-appropriate flapper dresses, bowler hats and tuxedos.”  There were dinner seating’s under the crystal chandeliers in the dining room where guests enjoyed appetizers such as chestnut soup with truffles; lobster salad; and foie gras with spiced pear chutney; and entrees such as cooked beef tenderloin and red-wine-glazed root vegetables. While guests ate, magicians entertained the crowd and a band played jazz and ragtime.

Dinner was followed by drinks in the drawing room where tables were reserved for bottle service. A DJ took over the music and after the clock struck midnight more guests of the members were allowed in and the rooms quickly filled up.
