Paris Menswear Shows
Paris runways were swarming with layers and textures for menswear lines. Rick Owens’ three-quarter length jackets flung over flowing tunics, leather gloves, and short trousers. Raf Simons featured slim trousers and nylon corset-like panels in the front with conservative suits; there was even a ribbed, red top, and skirt (yes, a skirt) for the more daring gentlemen.
Finally, Adam Kimmel was inspired by George Condo to add splashes of color and whimsical pieces such as cardigans, double-breasted suits (a trend this season), velvet jackets, and knits. His disfigured masks on the runway were definitely interesting to viewers, and redefined “statement pieces” for this new, unpredictable decade.
