Miami’s Burgeoning Culinary Scene Makes The New York Times
Oh what a great year 2010 has been so far. Less than 24 hours into the start of our new decade, Miamians have cause to continue last night’s celebrations. Posted today in The New York Times travel section is a review of many of the restaurants that we have come to love.
The Design District has been hard at work in the last couple of years, establishing itself as not just as an upscale hub for everything related to home design, but also as a district for dining. Maitardi, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, Pacific Time, Sra. Martinez, and Fratelli Lyon are the hotspots for the foodies traversing Miami’s mainland.
Head a few miles south to find the only downtown restaurant to earn ink from The Times, Area 31, located on the 16th floor of the Epic Hotel.
And though South Beach scenesters are die hards in their devotion to the strip, the only restaurant to garner coveted Times attention was Hakkasan, located too far north to be considered South Beach. Visitors to our fair city will find Hakkasan at the luxury resort complex, the Fontainebleau, along with two other mentioned restaurants, Scarpetta and Gotham Steak.
With the South Beach Food & Wine Festival right around the corner, these and many more gourmet goodies mean that 2010 is promising to be a year full of yumminess.
