Haute Style: Menswear for Fall 2010
From Milan to Paris, Fall 2010 Menswear collections have been revealed over the past week. Apart from a rebellious undertone by some of the more avant-garde designers (think McQueen, Gaultier, Comme Des Garcons, Junya Watanabe), it was casual, sensible luxury that continued to reign supreme as fashion houses streamlined old favorites. As expected, there was an abundance of stylish winter jackets, but this time there was an undeniable militaristic influence pulled from traditional uniforms–from aviation to the trenches–that appeared in many of the new collections. Luckily in this age of technology, one does not need to wait to view the entirety of the lines with designers such as Burberry, Emporio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Prada now streaming their shows live over the Internet. And of course, designer look books are available on any number of fashion sites.
Meanwhile, couture shows began yesterday in Paris with the women’s ready-to-wear collections shortly behind so be sure to mark your calendars!
