Gary Neville’s Undergound Country Home

News | January 27, 2010

Manchester United star Gary Neville is building an underground country home using the latest eco technology, to leave minimal impact on the views of surroundings. The $13 million, 8,000 square-foot project will be build on grounds in Lancashire. Designed by Make Architects, the bunker will be shaped like a flower, with each petal designed to different living areas to ‘eat, relax, entertain, work, and play’. The building will also have solar panels, with a ground sourced heat pump. The energy produced from the wind turbine will power the entire property and neighboring properties to reduce any carbon footprint. While the project is still waiting for an approval, the government already wants to use this plan for all future zero-carbon projects.
