News | January 12, 2010

Clift Hotel

Trendsetters flock to Clift Hotel, the brainchild of Ian Schrager, owner of L.A.’s Mondrian, for a mesh of contemporary glamour meets Old World hotel elegance. Guests walk the lavender entryway into the lobby for a setting perfectly fit for socializing. Designed by legendary Philippe Starck, the lobby has mixture of modern furnishings. The centerpiece of the lobby is a 35-foot fireplace with a bronze chimney sculpture by Gerard Garouste. Surrounding the fireplace are chairs from Ray and Charles Earnes and a sculpture custom made by William Sawaya. Also located in lobby is the renovated Redwood Room, which is bordered by the Asian-Latin restaurant, Asia de Cuba.

Clift Hotel is located at 495 Geary St.; 415.775.4700
