Ernest Hemingway’s Great-Granddaughter is New Face of Gianfranco Ferré

As the great-granddaughter of author Ernest Hemingway, Dree Hemingway is a 22-year-old blonde bombshell who has been making her way gleefully through the world of modeling. Now she has just been chosen to star in the latest ad campaign for Italian fashion house Gianfranco Ferré.

Having the last name Hemingway and being the legitimate great-granddaughter of one of the most renowned authors in the world must have its advantages, right? Well, 22-year-old Hemingway doesn’t appear to be using her last name to give her any head-start; instead she’s using her undeniable beauty and apparent talent. The last name is surely just a bonus.

Hemingway has been busy modeling in her short 22 years of life, and has previously appeared in ad campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch and DKNY and was featured on the runway of Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 2009-10 fashion show.

Now, however, Hemingway is taking the stage front and center as the new star in Gianfranco Ferré’s ad campaign. Creative directors Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi said they chose Hemingway to portray “the free and fearless nature of an utterly feminine woman” which the collection demanded.

The images for the Spring/Summer 2010 campaign starring Hemingway were shot by Dutch photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
